🔑 The MAIN Mistake (मुख्य गलती)
Not matching the verb to the subject — i.e., wrong subject–verb agreement in the Present Simple.
Hindi: जब subject he / she / it या कोई singular noun हो, तो verb में -s / -es लगाना ज़रूरी है।
❗ Why this happens (क्यों होती है ये गलती)
- Learners translate directly from Hindi (where verbs don't change the same way).
- Confusion between Present Simple and Present Continuous.
- Forgetting the special pattern in negative and interrogative forms (use of
do/does). - Irregular verbs and spelling rules like
-y → -ies,-ch/-sh/-ss → -escause mistakes.
✅ Quick rule (त्वरित नियम)
He / She / It / Singular noun → verb + s / es / ies.
Example: She works. — वह काम करती है।
I / You / We / They / Plural noun → base form (no s).
Example: They play. — वे खेलते हैं।
Negative / Question → use do / does + base verb.
Example: He does not (doesn't) go. — Does he go?
🚫 Common error patterns & fixes (गलतियाँ और सुधार)
1) Forgetting -s with he/she/it
2) Adding -s with I/you/we/they
3) Using main verb instead of auxiliary in negatives/questions
4) Present Simple vs Present Continuous
Wrong: I am going to school every day. (for routine) — Right: I go to school every day.
5) Spelling changes
try → tries (not trys); watch → watches

✍️ Handy mini-grammar checklist (जब लिखो/बोलो)
- Identify the subject (Is it he/she/it or I/you/we/they?).
- If he/she/it → add
s/es/iesto main verb in positive sentences. - For negatives/questions use
do(I/you/we/they) ordoes(he/she/it) + base verb. - For habits/regular actions use Present Simple; for actions happening now use Present Continuous.
- Apply spelling rules: try → tries, watch → watches, go → goes.
