By Gordon Cook & Alan East — Magazine-style single column | Mobile & Blog-friendly

⭐ SUMMARY (English)

The chapter narrates the true story of Gordon Cook, his family, and two crew members who set out on a world voyage in their boat ‘Wavewalker’. Their dream was to recreate the famous journey of Captain James Cook.

Everything goes smoothly for the first few weeks, but in the southern Indian Ocean the sea becomes rough. A massive storm hits their boat on January 2. Giant waves almost destroy the boat, injure the author, and cause dangerous leaks.

Despite injuries, the author and his wife Mary keep the boat from sinking. Their children Sue and Jonathan show surprising courage. Sue paints a card for her parents even when she is injured. Jonathan says, “We aren’t afraid of dying if we can all be together,” giving his parents strength.

The crew works nonstop for two days to save the boat. Finally, after navigating with damaged instruments, they reach a small island called Ile Amsterdam, where they receive help.

(Hindi Summary)

(Hindi Analysis)
